“Savage” and “Raw” are words often used to describe the work of Sidney Barnsley. Working in the Cotswold’s country side in the 1890’s, Barnsley quite possibly embodied the Arts and Crafts spirit more than any furniture maker at the time, being both a true designer and solitary craftsman. 
Paying homage to a past master, our Barnsley inspired Morris chair has an overly textured, hand carved surface, expressing the raw tactile experience, reminiscent of the farm implements which inspired Sidney over a century ago. The perfect addition to a lake house, or cabin in the woods.
