Just as the highest quality, and best furniture you may have, are the pieces you make
yourself, the same can be said for the tools we use in our shop, while
creating heirloom furniture pieces.
This is definitely the case with a few simple layout tools. In this class, students will learn how to make a Roubo Try Square, an unbeatable marking knife, and a marking gauge that will last at least a lifetime. All these tools will be made of Quarter Sawn White Oak, known for its toughness, and stability. Students will be amazed at how precise their hand made layout tools can be, and they will also learn skills to incorporate this precision and accuracy into their furniture projects as well |
